Ask any homeowner who's been burned and they'll tell you the same story. The call-out fee paid before anyone arrived. The quote that changed shape once work began. The cash transaction that left nothing to stand on when the job turned out wrong. This isn't rare. It's the standard experience.
It happens not because tradespeople are untrustworthy — but because there is no structure around the process. No verified identity. No itemised agreement. No documented conversation. No clear payment flow. Just two people and a verbal understanding.
And the damage runs both ways. Skilled tradespeople spend more energy chasing payments, dealing with vague briefs, and rebuilding trust from scratch with every new client than they do on the actual work. CTRON was built to fix the structure for both sides — not by replacing the human relationship, but by giving it something solid to stand on.
CTRON was founded by Ephraim Nwachukwu — a data scientist and systems thinker with a background in Data Science & AI (University of Suffolk) and a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society (UK). He built CTRON after observing how fragmented and stressful the process of hiring tradespeople could be for both homeowners and the trades themselves. He didn't set out to disrupt an industry. He set out to build the infrastructure that should have existed already — and didn't.
Learn more about the founder →The CTRON promise is simple: every interaction between a homeowner and a tradesperson should be clear, documented, and fair. Not because we've made everyone trustworthy — but because we've built the structure that makes trust the easier path.
Every quote is itemised. Every tradesperson is verified. Every payment is tracked. We prioritise clarity over convenience at every point.
Homeowners review and approve each payment request before anything is charged. Tradespeople send requests and get paid without chasing. Both sides know where they stand ”” without awkward conversations.
We review every tradesperson application. Not everyone who applies is accepted. The standard matters more than the number.
All job communication happens through CTRON. Not scattered across texts and missed calls. Tracked, accountable, and available to both sides.
CTRON is currently focused on Norfolk ”” King's Lynn, Norwich, and surrounding areas. This is intentional. Trust is easier to build when you know the community you're serving.
That means careful onboarding, real verification processes, and listening closely to feedback from actual jobs rather than racing to grow the user count. We expand when the quality can be maintained ”” not before.
The CTRON standard means everyone is verified, everything is documented, and every payment is handled by proper infrastructure. That's not a differentiator. It's what the baseline should always have been.
We believe the home services industry will eventually belong to platforms that built accountability into the structure from the start — not platforms that grew fastest and dealt with trust as an afterthought. CTRON is building toward that future deliberately.
Starting in Norfolk. One job at a time. Getting it right before we grow it.
